HW 22 is a chrome-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel designed for high working temperatures. The best features of HW 22 are:
- High resistance to thermal shock and hot cracking
- Good mechanical characteristics in hot conditions
- Good toughness in hot conditions
- Constant hardness throughout the production cycle
- Excellent machinability
HW 22 is normally supplied in the annealed condition with a hardness value lower than 220 HB, thus ensuring good machinability.
